Baruch, a Schutzjude (protected Jew) in Schriesheim since 1653 and one of the first two families to settle there after the Thirty Years' War, married Heffela and had children: Zadok (1661), Herzgen, and Joseph. As a result of the French invasion during the Nine Years' War, Baruch fled first to Heidelberg around 1688 and then to Mergentheim around 1693, where he died in 1694.
